This is an original theater assemblage of fabrics, sequins, German Dresden, repro vintage photos and much more.

I've created a small round theater complete with crepe paper curtains and the actors center stage - two children dressed in costumes and hand tinted by me. This is a reproduction of a vintage photo from my collection. The children have sparkles on them. On the "stage" behind them is a mirror, vintage newsprint and shiny baubles of this and that.

I've used aged German Dresden trim around the piece. Do you see the tiny tassels around the top? Above the stage are beautiful teal sequins, which I've also secured here and there around the piece. The crepe paper curtains are held in place by two sheer ribbons, tacked by by more dresden.

A transluscent butterfly sits atop the piece. One of a kind, all hand made by me. Signed and dated.

A Fine Lady Theater

A lady in the time of Marie Antoinette is out for a stroll and admiring the lovely swans in the lake. I created a miniature theater out of a stamp I hand tinted and embellished. This lovely lady sports a feather and vintage seam binding flowers, along with iridescent sequins and glittered paper flowers. She holds a fan made of vintage crepe paper and an umbrella with sequins and crepe. Her skirt theater houses a Dresden swan, vintage crepe paper and a scene of a French waterfront. She stands on her own a little more than 6” tall.

It is signed and dated on the back. An Iva's Creations original from a smoke-free studio.

Uncle Sam Celebrates Independence!

A one-of-kind Paper Mache collectible

Uncle Sam is so cute. His head is made of paperclay that has been aged and sealed. Under his hat he is bald, but he does have a nice tuft of white hair (lambs wool) at the back of his head. His hair hits the top of his organic cotton collar, which is adorned with a red satin ribbon and a vintage silver flag button. His removable hat is also organic cotton with red star trim. (See photos below).

His body is a round paper mache box 3-1/2" in diameter I've painted and collaged. The bottom has a wonderful patriotic Constitution-style handwritten paper, while the top has been scuffed up a bit for an aged look. The lid does come off, so you can store all sorts of small Americana items.

His arms and legs are wire-hinged. He holds a rusty wire with a quilted flag in his left hand. His sleeves are paper mache covered in fabric, while his legs are painted paper mache. He sits 6-3/4" tall from the top of his hat to the bottom of the box.

He is the second in a limited series of three I am finishing. Each have been hand-made by me and are one of a kind, in addition to being signed and dated.

Explore the Seashore with Pierre ~ A Folk Art Doll

With this theme in mind, I created Pierre, a one-of-a-kind primitive doll fashioned after children from the Victorian age. I've stretched my creative wings a bit and made my first boy doll!! I am so pleased to offer him to you today.

Pierre loves playing by the shore and even finds small tidepools near the shoreline rocks where he can sails his little wooden boat.

Pierre's head is paperclay that I've painted, aged and sealed. It is permanently attached to his body. He has the cutest chubby cheeks and light blue eyes. His brown hair has been painted with sublte highlights from days playing in the sun. His hat is removable. He does not like wearing the stuffy clothes his mother tells him a proper boy should wear near the sea. He just wants to run and play in the sand with his toys and not worry about how he looks!

Pierre is all handmade by me and no patterns were used in his creation. He has a tea-stained muslin body that is weighted, and he has jointed arms and legs, all for that aged and time worn look. He can be propped up nicely to sit with his toy sailboat in his lap. He has sculpted fingers and painted shoes. His shirt is a vintage-style red cotton with a nautical theme and scenes of children playing. It also inspired me to create Pierre. His collar, little sailor hat and trousers are made from muslin. A silk mint-colored ribbon is tied around his collar. (He is not a toy and not meant to be given to children as a toy. He is for display only.)

This sweet little angel loves music and so her dress and paper mache box are adorned with musical notes. I've used an antique German china head and attached it to a paper mache body. She stands on a round paper mache box measuring almost 2-3/4 inches across and 2 inches deep.

Her wings are a sheer wire-rimmed ribbon, so you can shape them as you like. She is firmly attached to the box, which I've trimmed in vintage sheet music and black gimp.

She holds a tiny bouquet of vintage flowers. Her cotton dress is trimmed in fine lace. She is one of a kind and comes from a smoke-free studio. From her head to the bottom of the box, she measures just over 6 inches.

Pink Birdy Birthday Wishes

Send birthday wishes with this sweet mini theater. I used a vintage pink bird birthday candle holder and filled it with a "candle." She sits on vintage gold lametta cording made into a nest. A large egg is in the background along with pink foil crepe paper. Gold german dresden and a pink paper flower frame the theater, which is on golden little feet. It measures 3" tall and 1-1/4" deep.
